We're on the clock for this one and time is running out. Just a few days ago I got a call about a Gulf War Veteran who has been battling cancer. His name is George "Lenny" Wright and all he wants to do is marry the love of his life, Tracy.
Watch the video on this page to meet Lenny and Tracy and see why we're racing the clock to make their wedding happen next weekend at their home in Clairton, PA.
Lenny has been battling cancer almost as long as Tracy has been by his side, nearly ten years. Recently, Lenny almost died from a serious infection.
That led a friend to reach out to Get Marty to help them get married without delay. In fact, the rush is on to make it happen on what will be Lenny's 59th birthday. That's this weekend folks, October 2nd.
You know the saying "It takes a village"? That's exactly what it's going to take to pull this off. We're rallying the troops to make sure this sweet couple's wedding day will be one to remember.
Here's what we have so far and what we need to pull this off:
Wedding Officiant: Pastor James Hogan
Wedding Cake: Oakmont Bakery
Catering: Smallman Street Deli
Wedding Bands: Laverty Jewelry and Gifts (North Side)
Wedding Dress (Size 14): Listener Karen who's celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary
Flowers/Bridal Bouquet: Wallace Floral Shoppe (Mt. Washington)
