GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. I’M LIVE HERE IN THE WEATHER CENTER TRACKING E! AND AS IT MOVES UP TOWARD THE NORTH, RAIN SPREADING OUT FOR MANY MORE. A TORNADO RISK FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. HERE AT HOME, IT’S ABOUT THE RAIN IN THE WIND THAT IS STILL UP. ASHEVILLE, HENDERSONVILLE STILL HAS GUSTS AROUND 30 TO 35 MILES PER HOUR WHERE IT’S BEEN CONTINUOUSLY RAINING. IT IS RAINING AND WINDY IN SPARTANBURG AND IN GAFFNEY, BUT THAT RAIN IS SPILLING INTO AREAS THAT HAVE NOT HAD MUCH RAIN TODAY. NOTHING SEVERE. WE CAN HANDLE THIS RAIN FROM GREENVILLE TO GREENWOOD AND LAWRENCE PUSHING TOWARD THE WEST RIGHT HERE. AND THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO SPILL IN AS WE GO INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS JUST A WINDY, RAINY, CHILLY NIGHT WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50. IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA, RAIN IS SPREADING A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO YOU FOLKS IN HENDERSONVILLE AND ASHEVILLE, BUT IT HAS BEEN RAINING IN RUTHERFORD AND IN MCDOWELL COUNTY TRACKING AND IT’S BEEN A ROUGH FRIDAY WITH THE WIND AND THE RAIN, BUT WE’RE DRYING OUT A MUCH BETTER SATURDAY ON THE WAY. What was once Hurricane Ian is now bringing heavy rain to parts of South Carolina and the Upstate, and the effects will continue through the night.The hurricane made landfall in Georgetown at 2:05 p.m. Friday as a Category 1 storm and was downgraded at 5 p.m., with still-powerful winds clocked at 70 mph. (Watch the latest video forecast above)In the Upstate, winds are gusting between 25 mph to 40 mph.Rain will remain heavy in the eastern part of the Upstate as the night goes on, with just scattered rain west of Greenville.
