Around 10:30 p.m., Sept. 25, Los Angeles Police Department received calls about a tree down on the 16300 block West Burbank Boulevard in the Encino neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

Vehicles kept running over and into the tree as drivers traveled along a very dark and long stretch of roadway without traffic signals where speeding is more likely to occur.

Police arrived to the location about 40 minutes after the call was dispatched and began to close down one lane of the street as civilians began cleaning up the debris from the fallen tree.

Key News Network interviewed Keith Brown, one of the civilians who stopped to warn oncoming cars about the fallen tree. Keith said, “If there is a right thing to be done, you do it … regardless of whether it’s your job or not.”

Brown expressed concern over how much worse the situation could have been. He is seen in KNN video from the location directing vehicles around the debris and helping to clear the tree from the roadway with other unidentified civilians.

About 10 cars were damaged due to the incident.
