After four days of voting, Bergen Tech has been selected as the North Jersey Football Team of the Week for Week 4.

The Knights’ visit to Hopatcong ended in a bizarre 14-7 win for their first 3-0 start since they opened 4-0 in 2005 under then-coach Vito Campanile. The Friday night game was shortened to two quarters after wind knocked down a tree that caused a power failure at the field and it became too dark to continue. Seniors Dominick Genario and Nazar Fedorko ran for scores to erase a 7-0 deficit.

Here were the other nominees:

Don Bosco

The Ironmen’s 31-7 win snapped Bergen Catholic’s 17-game winning streak and lifted them to No. 1 in the North Jersey Big Six rankings. Senior Nick Minicucci threw for 153 yards, including 16-yard scores to junior Bobby Mays and sophomore Nolan James, who also ran for 6-yard TD. Junior Logan Bush scored on a 3-yard run to give the Ironmen (3-2) a 21-7 halftime lead.

Ridgewood

The Maroons (4-0) climbed to No. 1 in the North Jersey Public Top 20 rankings with a 12-7 victory over then-No. 1 Passaic Tech. Senior Jack Foerch threw a 10-yard TD pass in the first quarter to senior Brendan Chanley for a 7-0 lead, and junior Matt Schwindt kicked a 24-yard field goal in the third for a 10-0 lead. The Maroons held Passaic Tech to 78 total yards.

River Dell

The Golden Hawks (2-2) enjoyed their first double-digit win of the season, 42-20, over Demarest. They had 444 total yards, including 262 rushing. Senior Andrew Spano ran for 142 yards and two TD. The Warriors (4-0) continue to lead the NJIC in average margin of victory following a 45-13 win over Becton. They have outscored opponents, 149-26, for a margin of victory of 30.8 points. Junior Bryce Hamilton scored three TD and kicked a field goal and six extra points. Senior Anthony Marco threw three TD passes, including two to senior Chris Caserta, and ran for a score.

Wayne Valley

The Indians’ 37-7 victory over Wayne Hills marked the program’s most lopsided win over its crosstown rival. Senior Alex Scheuplein ran for 81 yards and two scores and threw for 45 yards, including a 15-yard TD to senior Adam Okun. Senior Danny Smith ran for 107 yards and his third-quarter TD extended the lead to 30-0. The Indians (5-0) registered five sacks.
