Inmate escapes from southwest Ohio jail, is recaptured less than an hour later

GEORGETOWN, Ohio — An inmate at a jail in southwest Ohio took advantage of a malfunctioning security door to escape but was caught less than an hour later only 400 yards from the jail.

Craig Senteney, 21, escaped at about 7:38 a.m. Saturday, according to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. After exiting through the door, he climbed a security fence and ran north, officials say.

Ohio Veteran’s Home Police caught Senteney 49 minutes later on a street in Georgetown. he was taken to Mount Orab Mercy Hospital and was treated for injuries he suffered while climbing the security fence.

Senteney was in custody on charges of aggravated robbery, robbery, kidnapping, and two counts of felonious assault, according to jail records. He also has been charge with escape.
