ESPN's College GameDay announced Sunday, Sept. 25 it is heading back to the Carolinas next weekend for an Atlantic Coast Conference showdown between two top-10 teams.
The pregame show was just in Boone, North Carolina, last weekend following Appalachian State's head-turning win over then-sixth-ranked Texas A&M in Texas. The Mountaineers were cast into the national spotlight Sept. 17 for ESPN's coverage of App State's game against Troy -- which the Mounties made sure was another exciting win.
College GameDay will broadcast live from Clemson for the 30th time on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, ahead of the top-ranked Tigers hosting the Wolfpack, which was just placed in the top 10 in the AP Top 25 college football rankings on Sunday, following their 41-10 romp of Connecticut Saturday.
College GameDay's announcement also comes after No. 5 Clemson stole away with the nail-biting overtime win over Wake Forest Saturday, 51-45.
Clemson and N.C. State's prime-time game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 on ABC.
Both teams are undefeated at 4-0, and both have had some close calls as well as some dominating finishes to remain unblemished thus far in the season.
College GameDay’s most recent visit to Clemson came in 2020 ahead of then-No. 1 Clemson’s 42-17 defeat of No. 7 Miami. The upcoming broadcast will be Clemson’s first time hosting the traditional Saturday morning show on Bowman Field since 2016, prior to Clemson’s classic 42-36 victory against No. 3 Louisville.
News 13 will be live at Clemson Saturday, Oct. 1 for the big showdown with N.C. State.
