An already-rough game for the Jets and the Williams family got a little rougher late in Sunday’s loss to Cincinnati, when linebacker Quincy Williams was carted off with his left leg in an air cast.

Williams made a tackle on the Bengals’ Chris Evans on a third down completion late in the third quarter, but as he did, his leg bent awkwardly, and he went down grabbing at the lower portion of his left leg.

As the play was near the Cincinnati sideline, the Bengals’ medical staff raced out and immediately called for a cart; Williams had his leg put in the air cast and was helped onto the cart, and exited with a towel over his head, his face hidden as it expressed the agony of his injury.

Williams was quickly ruled as doubtful to return with an ankle injury, and while head coach Robert Saleh did not have an immediate update after the game, the linebacker was seen with a boot on his left foot in the locker room.

The injury prematurely ended a game where Williams had seven tackles (six solo), including one for loss, a forced fumble, and one quarterback hit. It also came in the same game where his brother, Quinnen Williams, appeared to blow up at defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton on the sidelines after a seven-man rush led to a 56-yard Tyler Boyd touchdown.
