CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department say that they arrested a man on Sunday after receiving information that he was making criminal threats to kill specific people, law enforcement officers and was “preparing to commit a ‘Las Vegas style’ mass shooting with a specified deadline.”

Detectives with the police department’s Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) found evidence of Dallas Marsh’s intent to commit these acts.

Investigators then discovered that he was staying near the Super 8 Motel. A no-bail arrest warrant for criminal threats of death/great bodily injury was issued for Marsh.

The Chico Police say that the SWAT Team found and arrested Marsh without incident near the motel at around 8:50 a.m.

After his arrest Marsh made threats to kill more officers and their families, and hit an officer with a table during the interview process.

Charges of battery on a peace officer and threats of violence against peace officers were requested when Marsh was booked into the Butte County Jail.
