While Solange Knowles is widely known as one of the most stylish figures working in music today—and indeed, more recently in a whole host of other creative worlds too, as her ventures into performance art and composing ballet scores have proven—it’s rare these days to see her make an appearance at the shows during fashion month.

But when she does choose to grace the front row, she makes sure to do it in style. Attending Matthieu Blazy’s sophomore show at Bottega Veneta yesterday, Knowles stepped out in a look that carried all of her knack for easy, effortless chic: a parka jacket with a gently cinched waist and a pair of boxy, knee-length shorts, both cut from the house’s signature sleek leather in a rich shade of hunter green. (Knowles also added a final touch of glamour with a pair of sparkling, sculptural earrings studded with spikes and a pair of slick black boots.)

It wasn’t just Knowles’s breezy spirit of relaxed opulence that reminded us she can still pull out all the style stops when she wants to, but also the fact she made the trip over to Milan specifically to see Blazy’s show, which was widely acclaimed as one of the best of the season so far. This look served as proof once again—if you really needed it—that Knowles will always have her finger on the fashion pulse.
