‘What’s up with the watch?’: NYC robbery duo swipes man’s $35K timepiece

Video footage captures robbers stealing a man’s $35,000 watch in Chelsea while the victim futilely tries to run away, cops say.

The creeps approached the 55-year-old victim around 10 p.m. Aug. 29 at 235 Ninth Ave., with one of the suspects lifting his shirt and acting as if he had a gun in his waistband, police said.

“What’s up with the watch?” the robber asked of the victim’s Cartier timepiece, according to police.

It was unclear if the suspect actually had a gun, police said.

The victim ran to the intersection of West 24th Street and Ninth Avenue to try to flee, but the robbers chased him, and a second suspect yanked the watch off the victim’s left wrist.

The suspects then fled in a black sedan that was last seen traveling southbound on Ninth Avenue. The victim did not suffer any injuries.
