Governor Kathy Hochul delivered remarks at an induction ceremony, not only as New York’s leader, but also as the first woman to hold that position.

She spoke at the National Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday in Geneva.

It’s just several miles from where female Americans first gained the right to vote in this country, and begin participating in politics.

Hochul says she’s proud it all started not far from where she and other leaders stood, just down the road in Seneca Falls.

Some of the women honored this year include Michelle Obama, Octavia Butler, and Mia Hamm.
