Georgia defensive back Javon Bullard was arrested on Sunday morning on seven charges, including being charged with DUI, according DawgsHQ and Seth Emerson of The Athletic.

“A starting Georgia defender was arrested by the UGA Police Department on Friday morning. Sophomore defensive back Javon Bullard was brought in for driving under the influence of alcohol along with a number of other traffic offenses,” wrote Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ. “Seth Emerson of The Athletic was the first to report.

“According to the Athens-Clarke County jail log, Bullard was booked into the jail at just before 5 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. He was released approximately two and a half hours later on bond.”

Additionally, Emerson tweeted out a description of all seven charges that Bullard has been brought up on.

Bullard’s charges include not carrying a license, improper turning, minor in possession of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, failure to use head lights, operating a phone while driving and driving under the influence. Bond for those offenses combined came out to $4,750 according to the ACC jail log, Rowe reported.

Since Bullard is under the age of 21, the DUI threshold is different. As long as he registers 0.02 or higher, he can be charged with driving under the influence.

Moreover, Bullard was a three-star recruit out of Milledgeville, Georgia — a member of the Class of 2021. According to the On3 Consensus, Bullard was the No. 45 recruit out of Georgia, the No. 43 ranked cornerback and the No. 523 overall recruit nationwide.

Through two seasons with the Bulldogs, Bullard has amassed 18 total tackles and one pass deflection.

Continuing, Javon Bullard has seen an uptick in his playing time for the Bulldogs in 2022. Earlier this season, he spoke about what has led to his improved success on the football field.

“It all starts with your mindset. The game of football, that’s the funny thing about it, everybody comes in all shapes and sizes,” Bullard said, per DawgsHQ. “You’ve got 5-foot-10 quarterbacks, 5-foot-8 receivers, 6-foot-7 defensive ends. So it all starts with your mindset. You can’t go into a game feeling shy or timid. You can’t shy away from contact.

“Playing in the SEC, it’s a physical game, so it all starts with your mindset.”

Additionally, Bullard elaborated on what’s been the biggest change for him over the beginning of the season.

“Confidence,” Bullard added, when asked what he’s improved in his two starts this season, per DawgsHQ. “When you go out there with your brothers, guys you share blood sweat and tears with out on the practice field, it gives you confidence in the system, calmness when you’re out there … Game reps are huge. Anytime you line up in Sanford or any other stadium, it’s a huge boost to your confidence. Practice is hard, but when you go out there and the lights are on you, some players kind of shy away from that. It can become overwhelming at some point.

“You’ve just got to lock in with laser focus, keep to your job, everybody keep to their job and we’ll be pretty good.”
