Man charged in connection with Sept. 15 shooting death

A suspect is in custody on a $1.5 million bond after being charged with the Sept. 15 shooting death of Montgomery man Dante Gholston, 23, of Montgomery.

Maurion Hinston, 20, of Montgomery was put in custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force on Friday, then placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, according to the Montgomery Police Department. Hinston has been charged with murder, according to MPD.

On Sept. 15 at 12:25 a.m., MPD and Fire Medics responded to a shooting at the 6000 block of Woodley Circle. Gholston was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MPD.
