4 separate overnight shootings in the Bronx leaves 1 dead, 3 others wounded

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A string of overnight shootings in the Bronx left one dead and three others injured, authorities said.

The shootings all took place within a two-hour span beginning just after 11 p.m. Saturday when a 17-year-old boy was shot in the head at Morris Ave. near E. 184th Street in Fordham Heights, police said.

Emergency workers transported the teen to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Less than an hour later, 45-year-old Jose Alvarado was shot outside of a Hunts Point strip club at 673 Hunts Point, cops said.

Responding officers found Alvarado with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS workers transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly after, around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was wounded after being shot in the leg on W. Kingsbridge road near Sedgwick Ave. in Fordham Heights, according to officials.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
About 15 minutes later, a 35-year-old man was shot in the head on Bruckner Blvd. at E. 141st St. in Mott Haven. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings. Police are still investigating the four unrelated incidents.
