Suncoast Heart Walk encourages Sarasota-Manatee residents to boost mental, physical health
The American Heart Association is encouraging Sarasota and Manatee County residents to join its premier event in November to boost physical and mental health through healthy habits while supporting a lifesaving mission.
On Nov. 12 at 8 a.m., Suncoast Heart Walk individuals and teams are invited to Payne Park, 2010 Adams Lane, Sarasota, to celebrate heart attack and stroke survivors, raise funds, and promote physical activity.
“The Heart Walk is a great way for community members to come together for a common cause and promote health and well-being, event coordinator Jennifer Martinez of Consult HR Partners said. "Through everyone’s support, we will continue to achieve our mission to raise awareness and save more lives impacted by heart illness and disease.”
Teams and individuals can register now at suncoastheartwalk.org. From there, participants can stay up to date by downloading the Heart Walk mobile app and encouraging friends and family to join the mission via email or on social media.
The Suncoast Heart Walk is sponsored by Quent and Helen Evans Charitable Fund at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Manatee Memorial Hospital, HCA Florida Healthcare, Consult HR Partners, Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System, Your Honeycomb Inc., Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, and ShorePoint Health Venice.
The Suncoast Heart Walk program includes a series of customizable workplace events that inspire employees to be more engaged, reconnect with colleagues, get in their physical activity, support a great cause, and have fun doing it.
The funds raised at the Heart Walk fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of healthier lives. Money raised by the Heart Walk helps to fund professional training, community education, and research. The Sarasota-Manatee effort will continue to support the American Heart Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.
