pleasantville-3

It’s been almost two weeks since the Pleasantville cross country teams hit the course for competition. The last time the Trojans ran was in their home invitational on September 12th, and their next meet is scheduled to be this Thursday at Chariton. In their home invite on the 12th, Pleasantville had one of their best meets of the season. With the long layoff in between meets, Trojans head coach Aaron Fichter says that they are focusing on the positives of that meet to try and maintain their momentum ahead of the meet Thursday.

“A lot of kids set season bests at our home meet, and it was obviously ideal conditions, and our course is fast, so you always factor those things in. But it’s nice to see that you’re not having like this large inconsistency with the kids where one night they look like this and then the next night they’re way off on their marks. And so, I think that’s a positive and it’s something that you definitely need to reiterate to the kids so they can keep that momentum and keep that motivation to do well.”

Pleasantville’s meet Thursday at Chariton will be on a new course, as the meet is being held at Lakeview Golf and Country Club instead of Red Haw State Park.
