A close game gave way to a snowball of Kohawk points late in the second quarter Saturday, as the Simpson football team fell 48-10 to Coe on the road to begin American Rivers Conference play as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Storm were down 7-3 with just 6 minutes left in the second quarter after a defensive battle, then after the Storm were just short of converting a fake punt deep inside their own territory, after which Coe scored 21 unanswered before halftime, eventually building a 48-3 lead into the 4th quarter. The Storm eventually scored on a Desmond Alexander run in the 4th, but the game was already decided.

Head coach Matt Jeter says the Storm have to do a much better job at stopping the quicksand effect, and stop trying to win the game on one play and just have fun.

The Storm fall to 0-3 on the season, and will host Luther next Saturday.
