Thoroughbreds and Statesmen tie at one

GENEVA, N.Y. – Senior Finn Weber scored early in the second half to even the score at one as the Skidmore College men's soccer team opened Liberty League play on Saturday with a tie on the road at Hobart.
 
  • Weber scored his first goal of the season one tic short of the 49-minute mark for Skidmore (3-1-3, 0-0-1 Liberty League).
  • Hobart (3-2-2, 0-1-1 Liberty League) took the lead early on a Connor Koshineg goal from Quinn Phillips at 4:14.
  • Hobart outshot Skidmore, 9-6.
  • Both teams put three shots on goal.
  • Senior goalkeeper Bobby Stratts had one save. The Thoroughbreds also earned a team save when a defender stopped a Sam Lescher shot from going in just one minute before Skidmore found the back of the net to tie it.
  • First year Tobias Catizone, who scored his first collegiate goal on Wednesday, accounted for the other two Skidmore shots on goal.
  • Hobart finished with a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore will travel to Clarkson for a mid-week conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m.
