Eli Drinkwitz scoured on social media following inexplicable loss at Auburn
Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers should have won at Auburn on Saturday. Twice.
Normally reliable kicker Harrison Mevis missed a 26-yarder that would have given Mizzou the win in overtime. Then, running in for what should have been the game-winning score in overtime, RB Nate Peat fumbled before crossing the plane, giving Auburn the unlikely win.
It was a loss that would have been unexpected for any fan base other than Mizzou’s, as Tiger fans are used to losses that defy any rational explanation.
Still, many were fed up with Drinkwitz after the game, taking to Twitter to criticize the Mizzou coach. Some even called for him to be fired.

Where do the Tigers go from here? They’re 2-2 this year, but are now 0-2 against Power 5 opponents.
Mizzou hosts No. 1 Georgia next week before traveling to No. 20 Florida in Week 6. Things could get worse before they get better for Drinkwitz and the Tigers.
