PHOENIX — An oompah band will welcome visitors to Gilbert Regional Park for this year’s Gilbert Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Volksfest experience will operate from 2-9 p.m. and will offer live music, Bavarian beers from local breweries and kids zones, according to a press release.

Spiced sausages, bratwurst, pretzels and streusel will be on the menu.

Among the festivities will be a stein holding and sausage eating competition.

Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime will headline the event’s musical acts. Manuela Horn, known as the “Queen of Oktoberfest,” will accompany them with her band, The Oktoburlesques, according to the release.

Horn is a yodeler and dancer who performed on “America’s Got Talent.”

“In anticipation of increased attendance, we’re bringing back Gilbert Oktoberfest with more cooling amenities, authentic German beer and food catering, and activities for guests of all ages to enjoy”, David Horen, director of events at Forty8 Live!, said in the release.

“Lace up your dirndl, throw on your lederhosen, grab a stein and let the good times roll.”

General admission tickets online cost $23.76, but the price will increase closer to the event.

Children 12 years old and younger will be admitted for free. Tickets cover the concert and admission, not food or beverages.

We want to hear from you.
