The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are light in the receiver room ahead of what could be a pivotal NFC matchup on Sunday when they host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Wide receivers Chris Godwin and Julio Jones remain sidelined with injury, while Mike Evans will serve a one-game suspension for his role in last week’s wild brawl with Marshon Lattimore and the New Orleans Saints.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and the Buccaneers have decided to activate wide receiver Cole Beasley from the practice squad.

“Buccaneers elevated wide receiver Cole Beasley to their active roster from their practice squad for Sunday’s game versus the Packers,” Schefter tweeted.
Beasley has created headlines in the past two seasons for his refusal to get the COVID vaccine. Beasley, a former Oklahoma State University Cowboy, went undrafted in the 2012 selection process before eventually signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
After a longtime stint with the Buffalo Bills ended, Beasley signed with the Bucs practice squad earlier this week.
Last year with the Buffalo Bills, Beasley appeared in 16 games. He registered 82 receptions on 112 targets for 693 yards and a touchdown. After the season, the Bills allowed Beasley to seek a trade. Failing to secure a new destination, the Bills cut Beasley in March 2022.
