Memorial service held for over 100 DC firefighters who died on the line of duty

WASHINGTON (7NEWS) —
The Washington D.C. Fire and EMS Department held a service on Saturday to honor over 100 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty in the department's 150-year history.

On Saturday firefighters held the memorial service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Northwest DC. Families of the fallen were also in attendance. During the service, the names of 102 fallen firefighters were read aloud.
The service ended with a procession featuring 102 flags, one for each firefighter lost.
Earlier this year, the department held a parade celebrating its 150-year history.
