1 person flown to hospital after multi-car crash in Westmoreland County

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One person was flown to a hospital after a fiery crash involving multiple cars in Hempfield Township.

According to our news partners at the Trib, first responders from four different fire companies assisted with the crash.

The crash happened on Arona Road near the intersection of West Lake Drive around 8:30 p.m. Friday, the Trib reported.

One of the cars erupted into flames, the Trib said.

A landing zone for a medical helicopter was established at West Hempfield Elementary School, dispatchers told the Trib.

The Trib also said a utility police was damaged in the crash.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.
