Authorities in South Carolina said a missing 3-year-old girl who was reported missing has been found safe.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said Ruby Heider was located on Saturday around 11 a.m. EDT and reunited with her loved ones.
The department shared a photo of Ruby being embraced by her family.
Sheriff (Anthony) Dennis is thrilled to announce that the search of the missing 3 year old at Poinsett State Park ended in the safe return of Ruby to her parents," police noted on Facebook.
Police previously said the toddler was last seen around 7:30 on Friday night at Poinsett State Park in Sumter County.
The child was on a family camping trip. Family members called police for help when they could not find Ruby, according to deputies.
But authorities said she was later spotted in the wood line less than a mile from the campsite.
Dennis expressed gratitude to law enforcement, as well as the public, for a positive outcome.
He praised the Sumter City Police Department, Park Rangers, DNR, SLED, the FBI, Shaw AFB personnel, Lee County, Sumter County EMS and Fire department, and multiple volunteers.
"Sheriff Dennis thanks the many citizens who helped in many ways but also for the prayers for Ruby's safe return," according to the social media post. "He is thankful to acknowledge that those prayers were answered this morning."
