Apparently, iconic singer Barbra Streisand still has some tricks up her sleeve-an album, "Barbra Streisand - Live at the Bon Soir."

The album was recorded back in 1962 and was supposed to be her debut studio album, but was later scrapped for "The Barbra Streisand Album," which went on to win Album of the year at the Grammy Awards.

"The initial plan for my first album was to record it at the club, and these early tapes have been sleeping in my vault for six decades," said the multi-hyphenated singer.

"I'm delighted to finally bring them out into the light and share what could have been my debut album, 'Live at the Bon Soir.'"

Streisand recorded the tracks of the album in the Bon Soir, a Greenwich Village nightclub in 1962; it was the same nightclub where she performed and caught the attention of Columbia Records who offered her a record deal.

"Live at the Bon Soir" boasts a whooping 24 tracks, so surely fans are in for a treat. She decided to release the album to mark her 60th anniversary with the label, reports say.

'Quantum leaps'

Understandably, the technology during the time Streisand recorded the album and the technology nowadays is vastly different, which posed a little bit of a challenge.

The 80-year-old singer worked with Jochem van der Saag to bring "Live at the Bon Soir" back to life.

According to Variety, Streisand's vocals were not altered, only greatly improved from the original tapes.

"The club's acoustics were obviously not designed for recording, and there was a lot of leakage from the instruments into her vocal mic," explained the Grammy-winning engineer.

"To give listeners 'the best seat in the house,' we used cutting-edge spectral editing technology, clarifying the true artistry of Barbra and her band," his statement in the announcement read.

The album will be released digitally and will come as a CD with a 32-page booklet and vinyl with a 12-page booklet. Historical notes and photographs will also be included.

It was also noted that "the science of recording has made quantum leaps since 1962. ... Jochem van der Saag, has subtly solved audio issues in ways his predecessors could hardly have fathomed."

Tracklist

Streisand explained the reason behind the outrageous tracklist, "For me, the studio is a combination musical playground and laboratory... a private sanctuary, where the possibility of catching lightning in a bottle always exists," it read in the album's notes.

The expansive tracklist opens with "Introduction by David Kapralik (Columbia Records)/My Name Is Barbra (Leonard Bernstein)," followed by "Much More," with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt.

By the ninth track, Streisand introduced her band, "Band Introduction," and includes tracks with Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for "Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered," "Never Will I Marry" with Frank Loesser, and many more.
