On Saturday, September 10th, 2022, Larry W. Davis Sr., loving husband and father of 3 passed away at the age of 87.
Larry was born June 28, 1935, in Sebring, FL, to John Wesley and Mae Ella Davis. He graduated from Sebring High School in 1953. He played tackle for the University of Florida, graduated there in 1957 and remained an avid lifelong Gator fan.
After graduating, Larry went to work for Dixie Lime and Stone in Ocala for the next 12 years. Through the years, Larry was a director for the Winter Haven Hospital Foundation, the Montreat Conference Center Fund in North Carolina, Habitat for Humanity in Orlando, and the Christian Care Center Thrift Store in Leesburg.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Davis, his three children, Larry W “Dusty” Davis Jr, Darian Dumont, and Drew Davis. His stepchildren, Michael Potthast, Amy Potthast Geier, and Daniel Potthast. 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church Leesburg.
