According to a report from the Madison Police Department (MPD), on Thursday, Sept. 15, at approximately 8:19 a.m., a two-vehicle crash occurred at the corner of Range Avenue and Haynes Street, near downtown Madison.
The report states that a blue Hyundai four-door sedan, driven by Pauline Richardson was traveling east on Haynes Street. A white Nissan four-door sedan, driven by Edna Ealy was traveling south on Range Avenue. As Richardson approached a stop sign at the intersection, she failed to stop and drove into the path of Ealy's white Nissan. The front left bumper of Richardson's vehicle made contact with the front right bumper and fender of Ealy's vehicle, pushing it sideways and coming to a final rest off the roadway.
Richardson was taken to Madison County Memorial Hospital to be checked, Ealy was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained considerable damage and had to be towed from the scene. Richardson was determined to be at fault for failure to yield the right of way.
