Lomax, Illinois man arrested for Methamphetamine possession

Carthage, Ill.-  The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Lomax, Illinois man for methamphetamine possession.

According to a news release, on Friday, September 23rd, a Hancock County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 9 near County Road 1450 East for a traffic violation.

The driver, later identified as 47-year-old Daniel Jackson of Lomax, Illinois, failed to stop and continued to travel on county roads for about two miles before coming to a stop.

A Sheriff’s Office K9 arrived to assist the deputy and gave a positive alert to the vehicle.

About 2 grams of Methamphetamine were located in the vehicle.  Jackson was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Eluding a Peace Officer, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

A passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene.

Jackson was transported and housed in the Hancock County Jail.
