CENTURA, Neb. (KSNB) - When you think of Centura volleyball, you cant help but think of Sydney Davis. " I started playing at the YMCA when I was really young and I started it in kindergarten and so I always grew up with it,” said Davis.

" I actually I didn’t know that she was close to getting the 1000 kills”, said head coach Shawn Fairbanks. “But I think the thing that really kind of makes her what we need from the team is to just really not focus on herself, I think she was very timid, about it, I think when she found out that she got 1000 kills she goes “that’s good” but we still need to play the game.”

“It was just an amazing feeling, being able to be the first one to do it, and it was just crazy to know that I finally beat it, it was a goal I was working on towards since forever”, said Davis.

“I am going to miss the most like when she gets a kill and I just get so happy and I shove her and I am just so happy that is what I am going to miss most”, says junior Kyra Wooden.”

It’s Davis’s last ride at Centura she’s off to UNK for volleyball and track next year.

" I have never been more proud of her, when she announced she committed, I was so happy I actually cried of happy tears I was so happy and she got her 100th kill and I thought that is my best friend”, said Wooden.

" Savor the moments and just be grateful for now and live in the present,” said Davis.
