A wrinkle in the timeline of the Lebec jewelry heist

On August 5, Brink’s Incorporated sued 13 of its customers who were victims of the theft of millions of dollars in jewelry and gemstones from one of its trucks parked at the Flying J in Lebec on July 11.

Flying J in Lebec is a 300-mile drive from San Mateo. Google Maps puts that trip at four and a half hours, without the bathroom break in Buttonwillow.

The Brink’s timeline claims the entire trip, including the bathroom break, took only two hours and four minutes.
