The "Junction Jam" in Essex Junction kicks off on Saturday morning. The goal of the jam is for local residents to get out and explore all the shops, restaurants, and live music the city has to offer. If you are an Essex Junction resident, you are eligible for a free $15 voucher. These vouchers can be spent at any business participating in the Jam. The vouchers can be found at the info booth next to Firebird Cafe on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. You must show proof of residence and vouchers are limited to one per family. "Residents are able to get a voucher for $15, and then you're able to use those at the participating businesses. Then the businesses are reimbursed for those vouchers after the fact," said Regina Mahony, the Essex Junction city manager. Junction Jam, formerly known as "Out and About," was created during the pandemic to help local businesses during trying times.
