Manchester cop hit, woman charged

Manchester, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Police in Manchester have made an arrest in connection with an officer who was struck today by an hit and run driver.

It was around 1:00 p.m. that the officer was  working a traffic detail at a construction site at South Main and Charter Oak Streets.

Under arrest is Kelsi Jenkins, 29,  of Manchester.

Ppolice say a witness reported seeing a black SUV hit the officer and continue without stopping.

The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

As for jenkins, she's facing a host of charges including evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, assault, interfering with police and risk of injury, among others.

Bond was set at $175,000.
