Have you seen him? Police seeking man wanted for attempting to rob ATM customer in SW Houston

Police are searching for a man wanted for allegedly attempting to rob an ATM customer who was withdrawing money from a southwest Houston bank in July (Houston Police/Crime Stoppers)

HOUSTON – Houston police need the community’s help in finding a man who allegedly attempted to rob a customer who was withdrawing cash from an ATM machine in July.

It happened in the 9100 block of Bellaire Boulevard in southwest Houston on July 18.

Details on the outcome of the robbery are unknown at this time. Police said two men, armed with guns, approached a victim who was withdrawing cash from an ATM and demanded to give them money.

According to police, a witness who was nearby reportedly pulled out a gun, and police said they “exchanged gunfire” with the suspect in an attempt to stop the robbery.

Both men fled the scene, leaving behind their vehicle, which appeared to be a Mercedes-Benz, and the victim’s items, police said.

There were no reports of injuries in the incident.

Photos obtained by police showed the suspect was last seen wearing a black colored hoodie, gray sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.
