Columbia man arrested after early morning crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a man suspected of driving while intoxicated in a crash early Thursday in central Columbia.

Jesus Olguin, 23, of Columbia was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated or impaired after a crash at Providence Road and Rogers Street at about 3 a.m. Thursday, a Columbia Police Department spokesman said. Police say Olguin was driving north and hit a vehicle going through the intersection.

Olguin also hit a residence in the 500 block of North Providence Road causing minor damage, police say.

The driver in the other vehicle was taken by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries, the spokesman said. Olguin was taken by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries and arrested, police say.

Olguin was not in the Boone County Jail on Friday. Information about charges was not available in online court records.
