17-year-old cited after 3 other injured in Franklin County crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – A 17-year-old faces several charges after a crash on Sept. 21 injured three people.

He faces charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an injury accident and illegal possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor.

The teen was driving a 2006 Ram truck eastbound on South County Line Road and crashed about a quarter mile west of Old Marion Road.

The driver ran off the right side of the road and the truck overturned several times before coming to rest on its top, according to the Franklin County Sheriff David Bartoni.

The driver and front seat passenger, Charles Foote, 51 of West Frankfort, both ran from the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.

Two passengers, Marocka Greenlee, 43, of Kankakee and Sydney Rich, 21, of West Frankfort, were ejected.

A fourth passenger, Logan Brymer, 20, of West Frankfort, was able to exit the vehicle after the crash.

Greenlee and Rich were transported to Carbondale Hospital with major injuries.

Brymer was taken to Herrin Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was later located at Franklin Hospital when he sought medical attention for minor injuries.

Foote has not been located at this time.
