Portland Trail Blazers to sign forward Wes Iwundu to a training camp contract

The Portland Trail Blazers plan to sign forward Wes Iwundu to a training camp contract, a source has told The Oregonian/OregonLive.

The team made announced the signing later on Friday. The Blazers begin training camp Tuesday in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The addition of Iwundu pushes the Blazers’ camp roster to 20, the max allowed by the NBA.

The 6-foot-6 forward, who entered the NBA as a second-round pick in 2017, spent last season with Atlanta where he appeared in three games.

During his five-year career, Iwundu has appeared in 226 games with Orlando, Dallas, New Orleans and Atlanta. He has averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds while playing 16.9 minutes per game.

Iwundu played collegiately at Kansas State where as a senior he averaged 13 points and 6.3 rebounds during the 2016-17 season.
