CHARLOTTE − A pair of lengthy ramp closures will force some drivers who use Interstate 69 in the Charlotte area to find alternate routes beginning next week.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said the Ainger Road ramp to northbound I-69 is expected to be closed from Monday, Sept. 26 to Oct. 30. Also, the ramp from northbound I-69 to M-78 is scheduled to be closed from Wednesday, Sept. 28 to Nov. 2.

Another road work note: The Kalamo Road bridge over I-69 is expected to be closed from Monday morning (Sept. 26) to Friday evening (Sept. 30,) MDOT said.

The work is part of the $210 million I-69 rebuilding project in southern Eaton County and northern Calhoun County. The project began in late 2020 and is targeted for completion in November 2023.
