A man from Tattnall County in southeast Georgia who was reported missing was found safe in Cherokee County with help from a camera installed on a highway, authorities said.
Sept. 22, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies located 75-year-old Charles Stanfield Sept. 22, who had been missing out of Tattnall County since Sept. 20 near Atlanta.
According to his family, Stanfield has dementia and Type 2 diabetes.
Thanks to a Flock camera on Cumming Highway, deputies received a notification that Stanfield’s vehicle was in the area. Deputies located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Stanfield. He was evaluated by emergency medical services and transported to the Free Home Precinct.
Tattnall County was notified and Sheriff Kyle Sapp came and picked up Stanfield.
