Kathryn Dennis has a new leash on life, thanks to her adorable pup, Lil Gucci, aka “G.” The Southern Charm mom surprised her two children, Kensie, 8, and Saint, 6, with the dog last Christmas, and ever since, he’s proved to be the gift that keeps on giving.  

After previously explaining that Lil Gucci “gets [her] through the times,” Kathryn treated her social media followers to a dose of puppy love on September 22. In her Instagram Stories, she posted several heart-melting photos of the miniature red poodle, who even has his own Instagram account, boasting more than 1,300 followers.

Getting the perfect social media shot isn’t as easy as it looks though. Earlier this summer, Kathryn took the pooch to South Carolina’s Shem Creek, where they posed together for a pic by the water. In the June 5 post’s caption, she joked that Lil Gucci can be just as camera shy as his (human) siblings.

“Doesn’t look at the camera just like my other [two],” she captioned the photo, in which she wore a chic New York Yankees blazer, adding a laughing emoji. She further joked about being a “stage mom.”

If Kensie and Saint actually do have that issue, it certainly doesn’t show in all the sweet photos Kathryn has been sharing on Instagram this year. On August 25, the Southern Charm cast member reposted glorious family photos in which she and her crew were perfectly color-coordinated in shades of pink that even matched the house in the background. “Be present in the moment,” Kathryn wrote. “Life is much shorter than we think.”

She first posted the photos on February 6, revealing that they were having an early Valentine’s Day celebration. “These [two] are the best of my heart, the pulse in my veins, the place where I am most connected to my truest self and life purpose,” she gushed in the caption, adding, “Whenever you feel lonely and need a little loving from home, just press your hand to your cheek and think ‘Mommy loves you’!”

The following month, Kathryn “pulled out all the stops” for “baby chica” Kensie’s 8th birthday party in Charleston, complete with lava lamps, friendship bracelets, tie-dye scrunchies, blow-up chairs, and flower pillows. “Traditions,” she wrote, followed by a red heart emoji, on March 20. “It was a wonderful day. Every day with them is [because] I’m home.” The mom of two also added a “BFFL” hashtag, which she noted stands for “Best Family for Life.”

Sharing a mother-daughter photo with her “mini-me” on April 12, Kathryn shared that Kensie “loves to play with makeup” when she’s at her home. “Love to see her embrace the girly side that she has always had. Sweet girl just wants to be like Mom,” she captioned the pic, showing off her girl’s rainbow eye makeup. “All these years I’ve never been able to master eyeliner but lil sweet pea did AND she got ROYGBIV with it. I see [you,] queen.”

More special occasions soon followed for the family, including Mother’s Day on May 8. “Yes I gave you life but really you gave me mine,” she wrote to her kids, while also paying tribute to her late mother, Allison Dennis, who died at age 59 in August 2019.

It seems clear that Kathryn’s family of four couldn’t bring her more joy if they tried.
