Joy Behar picked a fight with Gwyneth Paltrow on this morning’s episode of The View, complaining about the actress’ choice of name for her daughter, Apple Martin. The comedian dissed the actress while discussing Paltrow’s upcoming 50th birthday celebration, which she marked by sharing some of her regrets from the last half-century.

“Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow will celebrate her 50th birthday — I can’t believe she’s ever gonna be 50, I can’t believe it — on Sept. 27,” Behar began. “Time flies, doesn’t it, girls?”

She continued, “To mark the occasion, she posted a personal essay in which she shared some of her regrets. Some of them are like hurting people, not speaking her truth more often, you know, like that,” Behar said, before joking, “Naming her child after a fruit.”

Apple’s name is old news, since she’s now 18 years old, but Behar couldn’t resist her little dig.

Sunny Hostin replied, “Oh, she did do that,” while Sara Haines tried to clarify, “That was ad-libbing! That was not part of the [essay.]”

Behar protested, “The kid’s name is Apple. Come on! I draw the line at fruits and vegetables.”

Apparently, she doesn’t draw the line a biblical figures because she had nothing to say about Apple’s brother, Moses. Paltrow shares both of her children with her ex-husband, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who is apparently responsible for the name choice Behar loves to hate.

Paltrow revealed how she and Martin landed on Apple for their firstborn’s name while answering questions in an Instagram Q&A in April. She said at the time, “Her dad came up with the name and I fell in love with it,” per E! News. “I thought it was original and cool. I can’t imagine her being called anything else.”

Sounds like Behar is picking a bone with the wrong half of the consciously uncoupled duo.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
