Pennsylvania apparently ranks among the top five most “Scooby-Doo” obsessed states in America.

Researchers at Cree Lighting assessed Google Trends search interest in relation to 97 key “Scooby-Doo” keywords in each state from June 2021 to June 2022. This data was then broken up into four separate categories—”Characters & Related Terms;” “TV Shows;” “Movies;” and “Actors”—in order to not only get a pulse on the nation’s “Scooby” appreciation, but which character was favored where the most.
Without further a-Doo, the resulting study ranked Pennsylvania as the number three overall state that loves the franchise the most. Appropriately, the state’s favorite character is the perpetually sub-eating dog himself, Scooby-Doo.
“Pennsylvania comes in third in terms of ‘Scooby-Doo’ obsession and is the site of two of the mysteries the gang has solved throughout the years,” reads the study. “The first, ‘Scooby-Do! Frankencreepy,’ has the crew had out to the fictional Transylvania, PA with Velma, and the other takes place during an episode of ‘Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?’ on a historic Civil War battlefield in the Keystone State.
“Pennsylvania’s most popular character is the show’s namesake, Scooby-Doo, and its most popular actor associated with the franchise is Amanda Seyfried, who voiced Daphne in ‘Scoob!’ (2020) and is originally from Allentown, PA.”
The state that came in second place in terms of “Scooby-Doo” love was Michigan, and the first, Ohio.
