Established four years ago, Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary in Spring Hill, Kansas, has NEVER stopped dreaming and believing. What started out with a few senior dogs and a handful of volunteers has grown tremendously, AND the next adventure has just begun — the establishment of the Homestead!

Through the tireless efforts of founder, Jen Dulski, plus volunteers, staff and worldwide support, the dream of the Homestead has become the beginning of a reality. Forty acres behind the original Little Red Barn have been purchased and plans for the Homestead have been established. Definitely a long-term plan, but who says you can’t dream BIG? And change the face of rescue?

The Homestead will include a network of barns to include animals at all stages of life including a puppy barn, a senior dog barn, a cat cottage and even a medical barn that will be available to anyone. This amazing place will also have a community center, and the barns will be connected by golf cart paths and walking trails and surrounded by nature. It will be a beautiful, magical spot to visit and volunteer.

Although Always & Furever has changed from the original senior dog sanctuary, the mission statement has not. In Jen’s words, “We treat every single homeless or abandoned animal in need like our own, with the same love, respect, kindness, dignity and grace, especially as they leave this world to journey to the next. I think all every soul really wants in this life is to know that someone on this earth loved them and that their lives mattered, and that’s what we strive to do and who we are. No animal deserves to die at a kill shelter. Our goal is to find them a family but if that doesn’t happen, we will be their family.”

It’s never too late for happily ever after.
