‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Cherry Valentine dead at 28

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” star George Ward, best known by his stage name Cherry Valentine, died at age 28, his family announced.

The performer died Sunday, but no cause of death is clear at this time.

Ward found fame after landing a spot in the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” — the British version of the hit US show.

After putting his name on the map, he went on to launch a TV career and even had his own BBC documentary titled “Gypsy Queen and Proud.”

“It is with the most heart-wrenching and deepest sadness to inform you that our George — Cherry Valentine — has tragically passed away,” Ward’s family said in a statement, according to BBC.

“This will come as a profound shock to most people and we understand there is no easy way for this to be announced. As his family, we are still processing his death and our lives will never be the same.”
