The Portland Sea Dogs' season is over after a walk-off loss to the Somerset Patriots Thursday night. Somerset sweeps the Northeast Division Championship Series two games to none.
Portland actually scored first in game 2 and then took a 5 to 3 lead in the eighth inning on a Hudson Potts two-run homer, but Somerset battled back.
The Patriots scored twice with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning then scored the winning run on a walk-off single in the 10th. Somerset won 6 to 5.
It was the Sea Dogs' first playoff appearance since 2014 after Portland won the second half of the season.
