A suspect is in custody following a shooting in Arnold, Westmoreland County.
The shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. Friday on the 1800 block of Leishman Avenue.
"I heard three loud pops, but I thought they were fireworks because they're always setting fireworks off up here," said Marlene Burkett, who lives a few doors down from where the shooting happened. "You're always hearing things going on around here, but this is the first time we've ever had a shooting this close."
Westmoreland County 911 dispatchers said the victim was taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital by ambulance. However, police at the scene would not confirm the victim's condition to Pittsburgh's Action News 4.
Investigators at the scene took away the alleged shooter in the back of a police cruiser around 4 a.m.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
