Celebrity Jeopardy! Hits Primetime, House of the Dragon Time-Hops 10 Years

Celebrity Jeopardy! graduates to the big leagues this weekend as Mayim Bialik hosts a primetime version of the quiz show. Also, House of the Dragon fast-forwards ten years, Sanaa Lathan makes her directorial debut with On the Come Up, Shark Tank goes live for its Season 14 premiere, and more. FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 23

Lou: Original film. When a young girl is kidnapped during a storm, her mother (Jurnee Smollett) teams up with the mysterious woman next door (Allison Janney) to pursue the kidnapper, but the journey tests their limits as it exposes shocking secrets from their pasts. A Jazzman’s Blues: Original film. Tyler Perry writes, directs, and produces this sweeping tale of forbidden love, which unravels 40 years of secrets and lies in the Deep South. Sidney: Original documentary. Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, and Spike Lee are among the stars paying tribute to the late Sidney Poitier and his legacy as an iconic actor, filmmaker, and activist. On the Come Up: Original film. 16-year-old rapper Bri (Jamila C. Gray) hopes to take the battle rap scene by storm to do right by her father, a local hip hop legend whose career was cut short by gang violence, but when her first song goes viral for all the wrong reasons, she begins to question her musical identity. Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? Season premiere. After debuting on the now-defunct CNN+, Chris Wallace’s interview show gets a second life. Each Friday, Wallace will sit down with three different guests for extended interviews on HBO Max, with highlights airing Sunday evenings on CNN as a one-hour special. Watch preview. Minions: The Rise of Gru: Streaming premiere. The popular franchise flashes back in time to tell the origin story of how the world’s greatest supervillain, Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), met his iconic Minions, forged a despicable crew, and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled.
