The Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso is holding its 13th annual El Paso Buddy Walk.
The event happens Sat. Oct. 15 at the El Paso Community College at the Valle Verde Campus at 919 Hunter.
The event begins at 10 a.m.
The walk/run raises funds for the Down Syndrome Coalition of El Paso and EPCC scholarships for students with disabilities.
Felipe Martinez with the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso said it will specifically help put on annual programs for the organization.
"The funds that we raise help us put on these annual programs such as our Christmas party, our Easter Egg hunt, our summer symposium, which this year ironically is coming up this Saturday and our medical committee, so it supports everything that we do to support our families throughout the year," said Martinez.
The 5K run and the one-mile walk circles the Valle Verde campus.
Martinez said the 13th annual buddy walk will look different this year.
"We are happy that we are back face-to-face we have had the buddy walk in previous years but it has all been remote, so we are super excited," said Martinez.
Register in advance for the walk as an individual or as a member of one of the many teams at www.epbuddywalk.org.
Registration is available the day of the walk at the event location. The registration fee is $15.
