The Walla Walla Fire Department is investigating a fire that destroyed a deck of a single-story home on Sept. 21.
Around 11 p.m., crews from Walla Walla Fire Stations 1 and 2 responded to the 1400 block of Boyer Ave. for a residential structure fire. Walla Walla County Fire District 4 also assisted.
When Fire Crews arrived, they found the fire on the exterior deck of a single-story residential home. All residents left the home safely. Firefighters worked to put out the fire in the deck area.
Firefighters contained the fire just before 11:15 p.m., but remained on scene till just before midnight to spot for flare ups and to investigate the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries to firefighters or residents.
Fire Crews said the estimated value loss is $1,800 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
