Loughlin’s absence from film and TV came after she was arrested in 2019 for her role in a college admissions scandal. She spent two months in prison. Viewers saw her again in 2021 in Great American Family’s Christmas event, “When Hope Calls.”

The network’s president and CEO, Bill Abbott, couldn’t be more excited about getting to work with Loughlin once again. “Lori is a genre-defining star that I have had the honor to call a close friend and collaborator for more than 15 years, he said. “We have a shared vision for creating meaningful and memorable movies that resonate with our passionate fans.”

She's America's sweetheart, regardless of what happened," Abbott said about the star.

The actress’ former “Full House” co-star Candace Cameron Bure holds an executive role at the network. Another of her former co-stars Andrea Barber also has a holiday movie coming up on GAF.

“Fall Into Winter” was written by Cara J. Russell, and in the movie Loughlin will play the character of Keely, who cannot believe when her brother sells his half of their family candy shop to her nemesis, Brooks, according to Variety.

Loughlin has been appearing more and more in public this year. Over the summer she graced the red carpet at the DesignCare 2022 Gala in Los Angeles. She donned a long-sleeved aqua dress and added silver accessories.
