PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria’s Fine Art Fair will showcase a wide range of artists on the riverfront this weekend.
“We have hundreds of applications that come in, in January…then we put them through a jury system. And, then there’s a waiting list if people cancel, or things happen,” Shannon Cox with Peoria Art Guild says.
Cox tells WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, this year’s event will feature 113 local and national artists, using a wide variety of artistic mediums.
One artist in particular to watch for, is this year’s “Emerging Artist”.
“Aareon Boyd, who is an up-and-coming artist in the Peoria area…he’s multi-disciplinary. He’s a big fiber artist, he does freestyle quilting, he does some tie-dye things…he’ll be selling some clothing,” Cox says.
This year’s guest artists for the 60th Peoria Fine Art Fair are ceramics artist Randy Carlson and oil painter Laurie Moore.
Peoria’s Fine Art Fair is being held at the Gateway Building, on the Peoria Riverfront, Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 10-4.
Admission is $8, and free for kids 12 and under.
